IET was charged with designing an assembly line to produce 3 models of a Volvo instrument panel and to participate on the pre-award team charged with developing a detailed proposal for this business.

IET performed a storage analysis and create detailed layouts of the assembly line, supermarket, and warehouse based on takt time requirements and planned inventory levels. Alternative layout scenarios were proposed utilizing the current facility, another facility, and a greenfield facility.

The client received the business and began producing instrument panels per the design with no major problems.
